"Singing the Landscape - the Voice of Ireland from the Leabhar Gabhála Éireann to Modern Irish Poetry"

Abaixo, a sinopse traduzida:

Singing the Landscape - the Voice of Ireland from the Leabhar Gabhála Éireann to Modern Irish Poetry
In Celtic times, the Isle of Ériu was seen as a living soul - since Amairgen, First Bard of Ireland, set foot on her shores, several features of the landscape come to life through songs and tales in the voices of the ancestral Bards and modern poets alike. Drawing upon the mystic associations of Myth and Landscape found in the Leabhar Gabhála Éireann and other early sources to the writings of WB Yeats; from the traditional songs of rural Ireland to Seamus Heaney's verses, this paper explores the deep intimacy between Irish Landscape and Poetry throughout the ages – a two-way approach intent on offering a multi-layered understanding of Irish/Celtic texts and verses.
